About
A Collaborative that Promotes Youth Wellbeing to Prevent Suicide

Our Story
The Healthcare Alliance in Response to Adolescent Depression (HEARD) was founded in 2009 after a local youth suicide cluster.
We are mental health professionals, health educators, clinicians, SEL and Restorative Practice specialists, and Stanford School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences faculty and staff.
Our Mission
We aim to increase collaboration amongst primary care, mental health, and education-focused professionals to enhance the community's ability to promote youth mental health and wellbeing, to facilitate treatment of depression and related conditions, and to prevent suicide in youth and young adults.

Our Website
The HEARD website is available for anyone interested in youth mental health and suicide prevention. Resources are arranged for youth and families, schools, clinicians and media. Though the HEARD Alliance is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, the content, tools and resources are relevant for users anywhere.
All tools and resources included may be used free of charge and without copyright restriction. Tools created by the American Academy of Pediatrics are available by special permission for all website users.

Special Acknowledgments
This work was made possible by the generous support of a Bay Area family dedicated to improving mental health outcomes for youth.

Financial Support
The HEARD Alliance is supported by the Stanford Children’s Health Office of Community Partnerships.
